MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly yet to make a move for left-back Kieran Tierney.
The Arsenal defender is reportedly a shock target for the Premier League champions, who sold Ukraine full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko to the north Londoners this summer.
City boss Pep Guardiola is said to have added the Scotland international to his ‘shortlist’ of defensive targets – although talks of a shock deal for the 25-year-old have yet to take place.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Manchester City’s new left-back will be Sergio Gomez, as announced earlier this week.
“There are no ongoing discussions for Tierney, Renan Lodi or anyone else at this time.”
City’s reported plans to go after Tierney came as a shock to Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, who declined to delve into the speculation.
When asked if he’d heard about the rumors, he said, “No, and you know I won’t comment on individual cases.”
City are yet to reveal Anderlecht ace Gomez but expect the versatile defender to be their final signing this summer.
Guardiola said: “The moment we decided that Sergio Gómez would join the first-team, the debate about another left-back was over.”
The Spaniard added: “The club are always working on many opportunities and positions. That one target is a young player.

“In which [Under-19] World Cup, years ago, Phil Foden was the best player and he [Gomez] was the second best player.
“He played in Spain U21 and was a young talent for Barcelona academy.
“He went to Dortmund and didn’t have many minutes and has played under the good hands of Vincent Kompany and Anderlecht in recent years and he’s played really well.
“We’ve targeted him and could bring him here.”
Man City will be back in action this afternoon, welcoming Bournemouth to the Etihad Stadium.
Arsenal, meanwhile, meet Leicester City in the Emirates.
