Man charged with murder of 56-year-old woman found ‘stabbed’ in Kirklees

A MAN has been charged with murder after a 56-year-old woman was horribly stabbed to death yesterday.
Roger Harriott, from Linthwaite in West Yorkshire, has been charged with the brutal murder of Sandra Harriott.
The 56-year-old will appear before Leeds magistrates today and face another charge of possession of an assault weapon.
This comes after West Yorkshire Police were called to Ripon Avenue in Fartown yesterday morning to receive reports of a woman with serious stab wounds.
The victim received emergency treatment at the scene but tragically died in hospital a short time later.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Roger Harriott, of Manchester Road, Linthwaite, has been held in police custody to appear before the morning session of Leeds Magistrates Court, charged with the murder of Sandra Harriott.”
“The Homicide and Investigation Team’s investigation into the murder, which took place on Ripon Avenue at approximately 6:59 a.m. yesterday, is ongoing.”
