Man, 39, ‘forced to take fentanyl before being shot in the head and dismembered to fit barrel after sniffing’

POLICE say a man was forced to take fentanyl before being shot and dismembered for what appeared to be “snooping” on law enforcement.
The body of Rene Olmos Enriquez was discovered in a barrel on November 29, almost a month after the 39-year-old was reported missing on November 3.

Ryan Bentley, 43, was arrested the same day at a home in Las Vegas, Nevada, police said.
He is accused of murder and conspiracy to murder.
According to police, Bentley allegedly assumed Enriquez had ratted out law enforcement about drugs because he was previously searched by police but not arrested.
In October, police searched Enriquez’s home and found methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl. However, he was not arrested and was instead treated at a hospital for being under the influence of drugs.

Text messages were found by investigators, as well as witnesses, who said Bentley was suspicious of Enriquez after the raid.
He allegedly lured Enriquez to his home and promised to give him a “care package,” police said.
Afterward, he allegedly gave Enriquez the choice of either being killed or snorting enough fentanyl to cause him to overdose, police said.
Enriquez eventually chose to do lines of the drug, causing him to eventually pass out, however he did not take a lethal dose.
He woke up after a while and tried to flee Bentley’s home, police said.
At that point, Bentley allegedly shot Enriquez before he went to another friend’s house to change, police said.
Gunshots were reported in the neighborhood and police were called, but no evidence was found at the time to suggest Bentley was the shooter.
He was arrested for drug possession but later released.
After his release, Bentley reportedly dismembered Enriquez’s body, covered it with lye and placed it in a 55-gallon drum, police said.
Police received a report of an abandoned area the day Bentley was arrested and checked it for hazardous materials. She found a bottle of bleach inside before being hit by the smell of rotting flesh.
A human torso without a head and arms was found inside the barrel.
A small tattoo on the body also matched one seen in photos of Enriquez.
