Mama June fans praise Honey Boo Boo’s ‘amazing’ makeover in new photos after 17-year-old underwent ‘weight-loss surgery’

MAMA “June” Shannon’s daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson received praise from fans after she shared some new snaps on social media.

Alana, 17, shared three photos to Instagram on Monday, showing off her recent weight loss.

In the pictures, Alana wore black pants with a fitted red top and a blue denim jacket with silver fringes.

Alana wore her hair straight and completed her look with heart-shaped earrings and a small gold purse.

The reality TV star’s million followers were quick to comment on the post and compliment her.

“Wow Alana you look amazing girl,” one person wrote.

Another said: “You are beautiful inside and out!!!” and a third added: “You look so beautiful. You put the work into Kiddo and it shows.”

A fourth fan said: “Look at you. You look great. Keep up the hard work.”

Another wrote, “You look so pretty and you’re losing that weight girl.”

Others praised Alana’s older sister, Lauryn Shannon, whose nickname is Pumpkin.

“You grew into a beautiful woman through Pumpkin. She’s a saint and a great role model for you, but you probably already knew that. Keep it up!” said one person.

Another wrote: “Great job with Pumpkin, she is a great role model for you. Keep it up!!!”

However, other Instagram users were disappointed with Alana’s choice of language.

The teen captioned the post: “They say they can’t fk me but I say they can’t fk me!”

“Don’t ruin the beautiful pictures with curses!” one person wrote.

Another said: “What?? Terrible language,” while a third commented, “Swearing isn’t attractive or classy – get up.”

Other people defended Alana, pointing out that the caption was the lyrics to a Cardi B song.

Last year, Alana’s manager revealed that the Mama June: Road To Redemption star was planning to head to New York for weight-loss surgery.

Honey Boo Boo, then 16, planned to head north for the surgery in late August after celebrating her 17th birthday, her rep told TMZ.

The reality star reportedly opted for a suture sculpt endoscope sleeve from doctor Steven Batash, which can cost up to $13,000.

The TV personality explained that she had hit 275 pounds and was hoping to get down to 150 to lead a healthier lifestyle.

After trying her luck with diet and exercise over the past year, Alana said her results have been limited.

The young star told her rep that she was concerned her weight gain was genetic and that surgery was the only way she could shed the pounds.

At the time, the former pageant girl’s manager said her older sister and full-time guardian, Pumpkin, was behind the decision.

Alana’s friend Dralin, 21, had also offered his support and said he had chosen to undergo the procedure alongside the TV star.
