CRUFTS viewers were agitated last night when an adorable dog named Waffle did somersaults on the carpet during Best In Show.
A cuddly toy poodle was named the winner of the Utilities category at the prestigious Birmingham show.
But as the camera zooms in as he reaches the green parade area, he stops to falter and take a shot.
The dog was shown on stage alongside owner Tom Isherwood as the announcer insisted: “The toy poodle won in the utility group.”
The best in the show is when the Crufts judges consider all the winners in that year’s categories to choose an overall champion.
A Channel 4 commentator was heard: “Here’s the charm and style of our little toy poodle.”
But when Waffle stopped to leak, he paused, then added: “Ah. Oh man. Not standing in the aisle here so here we are, striding outside.”
His co-commentator added: “It’s a number one. Make his mark on the way in.”
One viewer tweeted: “If you need to go, you need to go!!” while others insist he is “marking his territory”.
The winner of Crufts’ best show – the most prestigious award a dog can earn – last night was named Baxer.
According to the rules of the historic competition, the flatbed retriever must first win against other dogs of the same breed and age, and then claim the title of best.
Waffle, officially known as Afterglow Agent Orange, beat out Chow Chow named Elvis The Amazing Boy del Tassino to win the Utilities category.
And – proving that dancing on the floor doesn’t really hurt your chances – he was also named Best In Show’s reserve winner.
Other finalists included a Siberian Husky named Akela, a Border Collie called Lenor, a Yorkshire Terrier named Conan, a Greyhound named Aya, and a terrier. Irish geek named Donnie.
