Major pizza chain brings back fan favorite from a decade ago – but there’s a catch

HARDCORE fans can be happy because a popular pizza dish is back on the menu.

Little Caesars announced its Pretzel Crust Pizza is back on the menu Monday.

The food contains cheddar cheese sauce, mozzarella and Munster cheese, pepperoni, and a pretzel crust that the chain describes as “buttery” and “soft.”

The company, which has more than 4,100 stores across the US, originally introduced the item in 2014 for a limited-time promotion almost a decade ago.

It came back briefly in 2015 – but was discontinued.

AGAINST DEMAND

However, sometimes fan demand helps and it seems Little Caesars has given in to the diehards who have been pushing for the item to come back.

A fan started an online petition to bring the article back, which has garnered more than 5,000 signatures.

“It is my civic duty to change this world. A shift to smother the dehydrated world in gooey pretzel cheese again,” the message reads.

“This petition aims to end the Extra Most Bestest drag and give people what they really want: soft crust pizza.

And fans are now taking to social media to rave about the return of the iconic pizza item.

One user said: “Pretzel crust pizza FOR LIFE!!! WILL NEVER TAKE THIS PIZZA AWAY!!!

Another said: “Pretzel crust pizza is quite rightly the best pizza I’ve ever had and I’m so freaking happy it’s back.”

While Little Caesars advertises the cost of the Pretzel Crust Pizza as $6.99, it warned that prices could be higher in other states, including Alaska and Hawaii, and on third-party websites.

Also, that’s pre-tax.

But there are a few other things to consider.

The popular item is available in select stores nationwide and will remain on the menu for an undisclosed limited time only.

“Even though I’ve brought it back multiple times, it feels like the pretzel zeal hasn’t waned,” said Greg Hamilton, Little Caesars chief marketing officer.

“We’re bracing for the predictable social media outcry if it eventually goes away.”

MORE NEWS ABOUT LITTLE CAESARS

Little Caesars’ move comes after the launch of the corncob crust pizza made social media nervous.

But it was meant to be a joke to tease the relaunch of its Pretzel Crust Pizza.

It’s unclear if it’s available nationwide, but Food Review influencer Kevin Noparvar (@how.kev.eats) was able to get his hands on one.

But even Little Caesars admitted that introducing the corncob crust pizza was a “bad idea.”

Menu items aside, Little Caesars has good news for New York City residents.

The chain announced last month that it would expand its vision by building 10 restaurants in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan by 2026.

The first will launch later this year, according to Little Caesars.
