Magic The Gathering Delay Parody Pre-order until the second half of 2022

Wizards of the Coast have announced that they are delaying Collecting magic parody puts Infinity in the second half of 2022.
Infinity, originally slated to premiere on April 1, is the fourth parody ‘Un-set’. Set in a fun spacetime space, Infinity follows in the footsteps of previous Unsets by featuring unique mechanics that simply won’t work in the main Magic game. While these tags (represented by jelly bean stamp) is not legal in any format other than those that explicitly use the Infinity tag, Infinity was also the first Un-set to include the tags completely legal in Legacy, Commander and Vintage.
official website, the delay was due to “ongoing supply chain complications from challenges related to Covid-19”. It has yet to announce a new release date for the series, but it is currently slated to launch in Q3 or Q4 2022, potentially placing it some time between Dominaria United and The Brothers’ War .

The series is also notable for its popularity Shock Lands such as the Fountain of Sanctification or the Temple of Atheism. Shock lands are one of the most useful lands in the game, and Infinity will include all ten of them in new, sci-fi-themed full prints.
Infinity isn’t the first MTG set to be delayed by Covid and lead to its supply chain problems, but it is the most drastic and the most popular. Innistrad: The Crimson Vow Accelerator and Promo Cards were not in stores during the series’ pre-release on November 12. The previous film, Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, saw similar things happen. launched in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
It’s not just Magic that is affected. Yu-Gi-Oh! expansion has been delayed, including News of ancient battles, wasn’t available in many stores at launch last September, and the The Grand Creators booster will be pushed back from January 14, 2022 to January 28.
Oddly enough, these delays are not expected to affect the next set of Spells, Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, although it launches on February 18th. Although certain regions won’t get the booster packs in their language, no delay for Neon Dynasty has been confirmed so far.
