MAFS’ Nicole Lilienthal admits to husband Christopher Thielk that she used to “drink a lot” and struggled with anger issues

MARRIED at First Sight star Nicole Lillenthal has told her new husband Christopher Thielk that before moving to Nashville, she used to party a lot and struggle with a temper.
Ahead of tonight’s episode, the US Sun is exclusively able to reveal a clip of Chris wondering if “Old Nicole” will be a problem in their marriage.

Nicole opened the conversation by talking about her eventful past.
She began, “This takes me back to a time I call Old Nicole.”
Chris asked, “What’s old Nicole?”
His new wife explained: “Old Nicole used to drink a lot and I was pretty selfish because I wanted it to be about me enjoying my best life.

“I was in bars all the time and just drinking and doing really well, and when I turned 28 my whole personal growth journey started.”
She continued, “Moving to Nashville was part of that, and since I moved — I call her New Nicole…”
Then Nicole made a gesture by raising her hands to frame her face.
Chris had been listening intently to his new wife but paused to make fun of her hand gesture, also smiling and framing his face.

She said: “I know, I don’t know why I’m doing this, I think it’s cute – you don’t like it. I probably won’t stop.
He said: “It’s cute.”
Chris continued, “I’m very laid back – I like to be very calm, collected and balanced.
“It’s not that I don’t care. When I know I’m right, I’ll fight tooth and nail for it.”
Nicole said, “I’m with you.”
Chris admitted, “But it takes a lot for me to get frustrated.”
Nicole asked, “Do you mind – and tell me honestly, I won’t be offended – at all that I lose my temper a little more easily?”
OLD OR NEW NICOLE
The MAFS star replied: “I don’t know. I mean, I honestly don’t know. But if you take it out on me, I won’t stand for it. I’ll tell you, for now I won’t take it.”
She replied: “You shouldn’t, fine.”
In a confessional, Chris said: “I feel like Old Nicole would have been a problem for me to be honest. I mean, the selfishness, and that she’s a little bit hotheaded and a little bit intense.
“It’s definitely something to keep in mind and keep your eyes peeled.”
Chris concluded, “Because it’s something I’ve dealt with before and definitely don’t want to.”
Referring back to Nicole, Chris said: “I don’t want to be in a situation where you let your emotions get the best of you.”
BROCHE BRIDE
Earlier this month, The US Sun reported that Nicole had filed for bankruptcy and owed creditors $95,000 before tying the knot with Chris.
According to court documents obtained by The US Sun, Nicole filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy several years before she said “I do.”
The Queens native settled in November 2018 in the Southern District of New York, where she previously lived before moving to Nashville.
In the voluntary application, she had checked off that she owed “50-99” to creditors at the time.
For the total liabilities, i.e. money that she owes to creditors, she had written that the amount totaled $94,656.
She also noted in the court filing that her net worth was $4,912 and her monthly income was $4,207.
At that point, she had $18,501 left over to pay off her student loans, the documents say.
EXPENSIVE TASTE
Breaking down the debt, she said she owed money to various banks, including $17,252 at Chase Bank and $10,668 at Bank of America.
She also had unpaid credit cards from brands like Banana Republic ($8,169) and Macy’s ($1,394).
Other stores where she collected loans, according to documents, included American Eagle, Bloomingdale’s, Express, Lord & Taylor, and TJ Maxx.
Nicole worked as Senior Marketing Manager for Time Out Group, LLC at the time of filing.
According to LinkedIn, she now works for Compass as a Senior Marketing Advisor.
Nicole was granted discharge in August 2019, which means some personal liabilities were canceled for some debts owed and a waiver was issued.
The case was then dismissed that same month.

When asked to comment, Nicole told The US Sun: “The debt has been incurred on top of student loans due to a medical emergency. However, $95,000 and 50 creditors are inaccurate at best and totally unfounded.
“Not to mention I now have great credit and no debt and credit cards and a car loan and haven’t had any problems since. It’s something I haven’t had to think about or worry about in almost five years.”
