Madonna is clapping back at “misogynistic” critics who slammed her “unrecognizable” Grammy Awards look in a scathing new post

Many fans felt the singer-songwriter was unrecognizable as she took to the Grammy stage on Sunday night to introduce Sam Smith’s performance.

On Tuesday, Madonna clapped back.

In addition to a video of some of her personal highlights from the award ceremony, the 64-year-old commented.

“A lot of people have chosen to only talk about close-ups of me that were taken on a long-lens camera,” she typed sloppily. “Once again, I’m caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in.

“A world that refuses to celebrate women over 45 and feels the need to punish them if they continue to be strong-willed, hard-working and adventurous.”

The Vogue singer slammed that she’s never apologized for her looks and doesn’t plan to start now.

“I look forward to many more years of subversive behavior – pushing boundaries – standing up against patriarchy – and most importantly, enjoying my life,” she concluded, declaring at the end, “Bow down b***hes!”

DO NOT CRY FOR ME

The backlash came almost immediately on Sunday night and overshadowed Madonna’s impassioned speech.

Before introducing Sam, she shared a personal message with viewers and viewers watching at home.

“I’m here to thank all the rebels out there who are breaking new ground and taking on the heat,” Madonna said.

“You guys must know all the troublemakers out there, you must know that your fearlessness does not go unnoticed.”

“You’re seen, you’re heard, and most importantly, you’re appreciated,” the music superstar continued.

However, the concern of many fans on Twitter was not the speech itself, but Madonna’s appearance.

“If they hadn’t announced that this was Madonna, I would have no idea who this person presented at the Grammys was. JFC,” according to one user Posted.

“I love and respect her as a [a] Music icon but this just broke my heart,” another noted in the lengthy thread. “She doesn’t look like her anymore.”

Others claimed that the Grammy Awards specifically didn’t take a close-up of her during the speech.

“Correct? Dimmed light and no close-up. I’m sure she insisted,” claimed one fan.

“She doesn’t even sound the same,” explained another user.

GIRLS GONE WILD

The Chameleon singer is no stranger to shocking fans with her wild looks.

In December, she set hearts racing when she stripped topless on her Instagram Stories, flaunting her age-defying figure in a corset and fishnet tights.

Madonna let her long hair flow to her chest as she revealed her glamorous makeup palette, including a sparkling lipstick.

“Express yourself, don’t suppress yourself,” she captioned the snap of her posing in her bathroom at home.

In another recent bizarre clip, Madonna looked unrecognizable in a lace bondage face mask as she undressed for a photo shoot.

She also drank water from a dog bowl in a controversial video, which left her social media fans “disgusted”.

Madonna has never admitted to having plastic surgery, although both fans and experts believe she went under the knife and used fillers extensively.

The seven-time Grammy winner doesn’t appear to have any wrinkles or other common signs of aging in her recent social media snaps and TikTok videos.
