Madonna in big money talk for apparel range with massive online fashion brand

She’s always been a Material Girl. . . but Madonna didn’t mention that she had polyester in mind.

The Queen of Pop has spent the last few years refreshing her image to keep in touch with today’s youth – and touching some of them, with most of her newest friends still in their 20s.

But I’ve been told she might accept this offer to take the Love Island generation one step further by starting talks with fast fashion brand PrettyLittleThing about a connection.

Known for its skimpy dresses and casual wear favored by luminaries like Molly-Mae Hague and Gemma Owen, the label is one of the most popular names in the online clothing market.

It’s aimed at 16- to 24-year-old women — a quick reminder that Madge is 64 — though admittedly she’s not entirely original these days.

A showbiz mole tells me, “It’s early days but there has been some discussion of Madonna joining PLT, perhaps for her own range or to run a campaign.

“It would probably be a huge commercial hit, his clothes would sell by the bucketful to young women, and it could go a long way in helping her appeal to a new generation.

“But Madonna is a long way from Molly-Mae…or at least she should be.”

Others who have hooked up with the company include girl band Little Mix and American singers Ashanti and Lil Kim, so Madge may not be as big a leap as first thought.

The fashion company cryptically told me, “I’m afraid we can’t comment on that at this time.”

There is no way around it, Madonna continues to attract a lot of attention to her image.

Though in recent years her style choices have been seen as less of a groundbreaking and bold statement and more of an attempt to lure fans to her social media accounts.

In many snaps of late, the Vogue singer has been barely wearing anything, showing off her flesh in a series of provocative images that have divided opinion.

So at least some fashion connection should help her cover up a bit. . .

LIZZO LOVED

LIZZO’s boyfriend Myke Wright has become a constant at her side.

The comic accompanied the US singer in London yesterday on her set in the Radio 1 Live Lounge.

A source said: “Lizzo and Myke are smitten.

“When she was being interviewed, Myke grinned at her through the glass and when she came out they had a hug and a kiss.

“Lizzo looks happier than ever. She shines.”

I’ve listened to her Live Lounge – where she sang Sam Smith and Kim Petra’s hits Unholy and their single Special – and seen her with the Brits and her vocals are fantastic.

And you’d agree, because her album Special, which came out last July, has seen sales jump 325 percent on HMV.

PINK IS, um, IM PINK

PINK is fit and ready to undergo hip and double disc replacement surgery last year.

She explained: “I was probably a little depressed from all the loss and I couldn’t lose weight to save my life.

“I exercised three hours a day, ate clean, and my metabolism was a dud – I couldn’t get anything going.

“And I said, ‘I’m exhausted, I’m sad, I haven’t been away from my family for three years — not even overnight.

“And I only need a minute.”

She adds in the interview in the March issue of Women’s Health UK that she then took refuge in a wellness clinic in Spain – and believes it worked wonders.

IDRIS KILLS 007 GOSS

IDRIS ELBA has officially opted out of playing James Bond.

The Wire actor insisted the role wasn’t for him while in Dubai to discuss the film adaptation of his hit BBC drama Luther.

Idris told the World Government Summit that he is fully focused on Luther: The Falling Sun, which will be released on Netflix next month.

The Brit added: “It’s very dark.

“We’ve been working on the television series for about ten years, so bringing it to the big screen is our natural ambition, so here we are with the first film.

“You know, a lot of people talk about another character that starts with J and ends with B, but I’m not going to be that guy.

“I will be John Luther. It’s me.”

EK POLLY GONE

If you were wondering how long it would take for last summer’s Love Island winners to lose their shine, it’s about six months.

It was revealed yesterday that Ekin-Su Culculoglu, who also proved a flop in TV’s Dancing On Ice, has been quietly dropped from her contract with clothing company Oh Polly.

The saga is quite embarrassing, even by Love Island feed standards, as almost every contestant and their dog strike a fast-fashion deal after leaving the mansion.

And most of them manage to delay the gig for at least a year.

Ekin’s friend Davide Sanclimenti has been scratching the bar since her win, signing deals with brands including Specsavers, Prezzo and, this week, Lindt chocolate.

Maybe he needs to give Ekin-Su some advice.

Brad and his close friend George Clooney have spent the last few weeks filming their upcoming film, Wolves.

I just hope George doesn’t get the same idea when it comes to his wardrobe.
