Mac Jones has an incredible TNF meltdown as the Patriots quarterback unleashes a foul-mouthed touchline tirade

PATRIOTS quarterback Mac Jones lost his cool on TNF when he appeared to yell “throw the damn ball” at coaches.

The former first-round pick, 24, apparently criticized New England’s play-calling during the 10-24 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Jones completed 22 pass attempts in the loss for 195 yards and a lone touchdown in the first half.

The Patriots played three quarters of the game from behind, but the coaches chose not to throw the ball deep.

Instead, they fed running back Rhamondre Stevenson and relied on Jones to methodically move the ball down the field.

It was a move that seemed to irk the former Alabama star, as the Pats only managed one field goal in the second half.

Even with a deficit of 7:24, offensive player Matt Patricia opted for quick passes.

On a crucial fourth-quarter drive, the Pats went 17 plays for just 57 yards and ate a massive 5:45 off the game clock.

And that approach seemed to anger Jones, who was caught by Prime Video pitchside cameras.

Jones seemed to yell, “Throw the damn ball! The fast game sucks!”

After the game, Jones admitted his emotions got the better of him.

He told reporters, “Obviously I just let my feelings get to me.

“What I said was throw it deeper in the short game. I need to do this part better.

“But it’s the short game that we’ve been working towards that that works.

“But I felt like we needed chunk plays. I yelled that out loud to get everyone going somehow. That’s emotional. This is football.

“I’m excited about this game.

“Obviously you don’t want to let your emotions get the better of you. I think that’s pretty much it.

“It wasn’t addressed to anyone. Only emotions came out. We kind of needed a spark.”

Not much was going right for the Patriots as they fell 6-6 in the NFL season and lost star receiver Jackobi Meyers late in the game to injury.

They next face the Arizona Cardinals on December 13th in Monday Night Football.
