Pennsylvania State Police said they recovered the bodies of three people at the scene as several others remain missing.
A PSP lieutenant said more bodies will be removed over time.
Officials have yet to say how many people were able to leave the home.
According to the police, the victims are between 6 and 70 years old.

A neighbor told Newswatch 16 he heard a loud popping noise around 3am.
“I woke up this morning and I was watching TV downstairs and I heard a bang. I looked outside and at the porch. It’s just started and has been almost fully involved,” said Mike Frank.
The Luzerne County Coroner told PA Homepage that “several people didn’t make it”.
The family told the outlet that 14 people were staying at the home as of Thursday night, one was not home, three had made it and 10 remained missing.
“There was a gentleman walking around in the street out here. He screamed – really upset and said that not everyone came out. Animals. I mean, there were a lot of people living there,” Frank told Newswatch.
