Morning Chelsea fans
Chelsea are set to replace Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri once Marcos Alonso completes his move to Barcelona.
The Blues have kept their eye on the France Under-21 star ever since it became apparent the club would face a defensive exodus this summer.
And journalist Alan Nixon believes Chelsea have earmarked Ait-Nouri with a £25million rating – although they are likely to face competition from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Wolves have no intention of selling Rayan Ait-Nouri to Chelsea, a source revealed.
Wanderers coach Bruno Lage is looking to build up his thin squad and is in no mood to let the French full-back go with four years left.
Ait-Nouri cost £10million from French side Angers last summer.
But Wolves are not keen on cashing in on him for a quick £15million win.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a transfer flight for Lazio keeper Thomas Strakosha.
Strakosha is available on a free transfer.
And the Blues see him as a viable option to replace goalkeeper No.1 Kepa if he decides to leave Stamford Bridge, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Meanwhile, Andreas Christensen would like to complete his transfer from Chelsea to Barcelona soon.
Asked when his move to Barca will take place, he said: “Hopefully soon.
“I knew for a long time what I was going to do. I’m just waiting for the right time. Unfortunately, it’s not entirely up to me. There are other things that have to fit as well.
“It’s one of the biggest clubs in Europe. I think it’s for everyone – whether they’ve had their problems or not, it’s still one of the greatest clubs for a player.”
In other news, Jules Kounde’s dream move to Chelsea has been rocked by an injury storm.
The £70million Sevilla defender underwent surgery on Tuesday for an old pelvic problem that flared up on international duty on Monday.
Kounde fears the operation, while minor, could still hurt his chances of a big-money transfer this summer.
And Sevilla are secretly furious that Kounde opted to play for France against Croatia in the Nations League while bearing the blow and risking the deal.
Finally, former Chelsea star Jake Clarke-Salter has reportedly agreed to join QPR.
According to The Athletic, the 24-year-old will complete the transfer on Wednesday.
That is once his medical treatment is complete, the report added.
