Lufthansa Airlines flight makes emergency landing as turbulence causes ‘screaming passengers’ to be taken to hospital

SEVEN people were taken to hospital after an international plane made an emergency landing.
Lufthansa Flight 469 from Austin, Texas to Frankfurt, Germany was forced to land due to severe turbulence.

The plane landed at Dulles International Airport in Virginia.
A Twitter user claimed her sister and brother-in-law were on the plane and said it was “extraordinarily scary”.
“Lots of broken glass and screaming and multiple injuries.”
Another user, who claimed to have been a passenger on the flight this time, tweeted at the airline asking for “immediate assistance and compensation for the catastrophic forced landing incident of LH469.
“A lot of our plans have been compromised, our clothes are ruined and we’re definitely expecting a lot more than just a hotel tonight.”
A statement from the Federal Aviation Administration said: “Lufthansa Flight 469 was diverted to Dulles International Airport and landed without incident around 9:10 p.m. local time after the crew reported encountering severe turbulence at 37,000 feet over Tennessee. “
The statement added that the FAA is investigating the incident and passengers are contacting the airline for more information.
