CRISTIANO RONALDO made the day for the young Portugal fans with the simplest of gestures – a high-five.
The youngster, a ball boy in Portugal’s 2-0 win over the Czech Republic on Thursday, ran away in excitement after slapping the hands of the great Ronaldo.
The kid saw his chance when Ronaldo ran towards the billboards behind Jindrich Stanek’s goal.
When the Manchester United star cried out in frustration after a missed opportunity, the youngster ran to him.
Instead of supplying Portugal with a new ball like his fellow ball boy did, they made a beeline for Ronaldo and held out their hand for a high-five.
The superstar forward did duly and touched the young fan.
And in a heartwarming reaction, they then ran away excitedly, hand in hand, after sharing a moment with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Fans on social media were delighted with the interaction between Ronaldo and the ball boy.
One wrote on Twitter: “This is adorable.”
A second said: “Just by this small action look at the joy he brought to the child.”

Meanwhile, another joked, “He’s not going to wash that hand again!”
A fourth added: “Cristiano Ronaldo is a first class human being from what has been said. I love the video.”
Goals from Joao Cancelo and Goncalo Guedes helped Portugal win 2-0 against the Czech Republic.
The result moves Portugal to the top of their Nations League group, which also includes rivals Spain, after two wins and one draw in three games.
