Liz Truss has to get a grip on mutinous MPs and start governing or she’ll be as paralyzed as Theresa May

LIZ Truss runs less of a government and more of a political shark tank.

So many rival factions are circling that its chances of creating the stability it needs to rule are slim to none.

The new prime minister had no time to recover from her disastrously presented economic plans before she was thrown into the pantomime of the convention season.

Then she was badly wounded by the display of open warfare in Birmingham, even among her cabinet mates.

Mutinous Tory rebels even plot with Labor to stave off potential welfare cuts.

And would-be leaders who sense blood in the water are ready to strike at the first opportunity.

The chaos of the blackouts stems from three decades of government complacency

As one Cabinet minister has said, Ms Truss could be as paralyzed as Theresa May, who has been unable to push through major reforms for two years.

But the country cannot afford to stagger from one political crisis to the next.

There are too many massive problems we face, from escalating living costs to looming power outages.

As MPs finally return to Parliament this week, we can only pray that some form of sanity will return.

As Home Secretary Suella Braverman says today, the Tories, who are working with Labor to undermine Mrs Truss, will only hand Keir Starmer’s troops the next election on a platter.

If we don’t see a Tory unit this week there is a real risk we never will.

The explosion on the Russian bridge to Crimea was more than a military attack

THE blast that wreaked havoc on Russia’s bridge to Crimea was more than a military attack — it was a message.

It went to the heart of Vladimir Putin’s violent master plan to seize territory.

Scenes of jubilation erupted in Ukraine when news of the destruction of the Kerch Bridge broke.

In recent weeks, the military tide has been turning in favor of the heroic Ukrainian armed forces.

They have repeatedly overrun their demoralized and seemingly desperate Russian rivals.

And the symbolism of this blow cannot be overstated.

The bridge was opened by Putin himself just four years ago. It has been billed as evidence of its dominance in the region.

Now, as Ukrainian forces defeat his troops, both the bridge and Putin’s power seem to have gone up in flames.

Britain is a strong supporter of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.

Now more than ever, Liz Truss must stand shoulder to shoulder with his nation.
