That came after a humiliating 4-1 defeat by Napoli in the group stage opener.

Losing both of their first two games 3-0 to Dutch and Italian sides, Rangers will look to bounce back against Liverpool.

But Jurgen Klopp’s side will be in a spirit of revenge after settling for a 3-3 draw with Brighton in the Premier League at the weekend.

And a win over Rangers would virtually eliminate the Scottish side from Europe’s elite competition.

Andy Robertson is still out with a knee problem while Ibrahim Konate is working his way back into the squad from injury.

Dawrin Nunez could get a start as Roberto Firmino continued his fine Premier League form for the Reds.

Diogo Jota could also take a few minutes lead with Mohamed Salah expected to start again.

Ex-Liverpool centre-back Ben Davies is likely to step into Rangers’ defence, which Steven Davis will also play in midfield.

But Ianis Hagi, Filip Helander and Kemar Roofe are all sidelined for the game.
