Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Fabinho, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate are unlikely to join the squad due to their World Cup appearances.

Full 33-man Liverpool squad: Adrian, Kelleher, Davies, Mrozek, Pitaluga, Thiago, Milner, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Elliott, Arthur, Clark, Bajcetic, Cain, Corness, Firmino, Salah, Jota, Diaz, Carvalho, Gordon, Frauendorf, Stewart, Oak.

AC Milan are yet to confirm their full squad.

  • Fik the group

Fikayo Tomori will no doubt have been disappointed to have missed out on England’s World Cup squad.

The defender featured ahead of the 26-man squad for the international break but missed out.

Turns out he probably wouldn’t have played either way, with Harry Maguire and John Stones favored for Gareth Southgate at the back.

He is on duty today and has told the press he is determined to do more to find his way into the England team.

“I’m always motivated, of course there are disappointments because I wanted to be there,” he said of the World Cup.

“But it didn’t happen and I know I have to do more to get to Euro 2024.

“There was a disappointment but I have to keep working and then we’ll see. At the moment I am happy and content.”

  • Live life

Harvey Elliott has admitted the Liverpool squad are loving life in Dubai as they prepare for the Premier League’s return.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have avoided the cold weather at home and will return soon ahead of their encounter with Man City.

“It was a nice camp but, to be fair, a strange one too,” Elliott told Sky Sports.

“To be out here in such a hot weather when it’s so cold with the snow, especially in England, and the temperatures are massively different.

“It’s another wonderful experience and the support we’ve received at the Games has been amazing wherever we go around the world. It’s just nice to see the guys back to build on what we left off at the start of the season.

“Hopefully we can make it through the rest of the season, just keep performing, keep winning and that’s the focus for this camp. Work on things that we had to work on earlier in the season and we did that.
