LIVERPOOL is getting into the transfer market early and hiring a new Mighty Red mascot – with a very strict job description.
The post for the Anfield appearance is now closed as the club work out who will be their next mascot, which can rival the likes of Fred the Red, Stamford the Lion and Filbert Fox.
And the rigorous recruitment process ensures that the successful candidate is up to the rigors that the role entails.
Liverpool are looking for someone with very special skills to become the new Mighty Red.
The job description requires “high quality, world-class performances” and “strong non-verbal communication skills in costume”.
The successful candidate must also maintain the costume, maintain confidentiality regarding the identity of the mascot, and “possess an exceptional level of creativity and spontaneity.”
In addition to the skills, there is also a list of physical requirements for the new mascot.
You must be between 5ft 7″ and 6ft 2″ tall to fit into the costume for Mighty Red, which looks like the city’s famous Liver Bird and was created in 2012.
The newcomer must also have a “high level of fitness” and the “ability to work in extreme heat”.
The casual role is set at Anfield and will no doubt mean the new mascot is used in the coming weeks.
