Liverpool 2 Real Madrid 5: Embarrassed Reds gamble away two-goal advantage and plunge into worst European defeat ever in Anfield thriller

LIVERPOOL and Real Madrid served up another Champions League classic – with more goalkeeping errors in front and behind.
Five years after Loris Karius’ Kyiv nightmare, Thibaut Courtois and Alisson scored brilliant goals on a crazy Anfield night.

Darwin Nunez gave the Reds the lead after four minutes and ten minutes later it was 2-0 when Mo Salah saluted Courtois’ mistake.
But Real fought back through Vinicius Junior, who rolled into the bottom corner and then got lucky with Alisson’s stupid pass.
Eder Militao thundered in with a header just after the break and Karim Benzema’s deflected shot caught Alisson 4-2.
However, Benzema’s second goal was unlucky as Real broke through Liverpool’s defence.
The Frenchman had Alisson on the lawn and three cover defenders chasing after him helplessly as he fired into the top corner.
