According to The Met Office, the current long-range weather forecast for Monday 11 April to Wednesday 20 April is: ‘Showers with occasional sunshine are likely throughout most of the country at the start of the period, with the strongest and most frequent being showers probably in the west, where they can transition into longer periods of rain.
“Strong winds expected, especially in the southeast and far north. Continuing into April, unsettled conditions are expected to persist, particularly in the south and west. Showers and strong winds are expected for most areas, with occasional dry interludes. Above-average temperatures are expected.
“The heaviest rain and strongest winds likely over the western hills where some snow is possible. From mid-April calmer conditions with longer periods of drought and fine weather are expected. However, changeable intervals are possible. Above-average temperatures should continue, but night frosts may occur.”
