Little hopes Arsenal improve their game against Wolfsburg as the Gunners prepare for the Roord reunion

KIM LITTLE warns Arsenal not to up the ante when they face Wolfsburg and former teammate Jill Roord.
In the duel on Wednesday in the Emirates, the WSL leaders will play in the Champions League for the first time since the heavy 4-1 away defeat against Hoffenheim.

It also comes three months after the last European Cup game at the club’s home ground, which ended in a 4-0 win for Spanish champions Barcelona.
Skipper Little, 31, said: “We were disappointed with both of our results against Barcelona.
“We will be braver and learn from it. When it comes to those slightly different games (than what we’re used to in the league), we’ll make sure we do our best.
Since December’s defeats by Barcelona and Hoffenheim, Jonas Eidevall’s side have become a more dangerous opponent on the domestic front.

The team, which has lost just once in WSL this season, has won eight of their last 12 games in all competitions.
And their ranks have been bolstered by the January additions of Sweden striker Stina Blackstenius, Brazilian centre-back Rafaelle and former Hoffenheim full-back Laura Wienrother.
Little, 31, said: “We have to have faith in where we are currently as a team and how we’re playing, but also look to improve our performance because it (the Champions League) is a different tournament.
“Right now we’re in a really good place in terms of our flow, performance and results over the past two months.”
Arsenal remain the only British club to have triumphed in the competition for Europe’s top clubs by lifting the trophy under former boss Vic Akers in 2007.
In their last competitive game against Wolfsburg, they went down 4-1 on aggregate in the semifinals, their only goal coming in 2013 from Little.
Much has changed since then, however, as the club have won a WSL crown, two FA Cups and two League Cups in the past nine years.

Meanwhile, their opponents, who sit at the top of Germany’s top division, have won four Bundesliga women’s titles and two Champions League trophies.
On her reflections on that Wolfsburg game, Little added: “They had (Nadine) Kessler and (Lena) Goessling, two midfielders who were at the top of their game at the time.
“It was good for me to have learned from this game from a young age, being in my early twenties.
“It’s been almost ten years since that game. Hopefully I can bring my experience to this game.”
Arsenal’s clash with Wolfsburg will see the little one and her fellow Gunners reunited with former attacking midfielder Jill Roord.

And the Dutch starlet, who counts Vivianne Miedema as a close friend, has scored 10 goals in 13 Premier League and Champions League games this season.
Roord, 24, said: It’s a special game and very special to myself but I try not to think about it too much, just enjoy it.”
Arsenal vs Wolfsburg will be broadcast live on the DAZN YouTube channel on Wednesday 23 February from 7:45 p.m.
