LIONEL MESSI watched in the stands with a stone face as Kylian Mbappe scored for PSG – hours after he reportedly demanded to leave.

Messi’s smiling and contented demeanor alongside Ms Antonella appeared to change dramatically with Mbappe’s penalty shoot-out in Tuesday’s 1-1 Champions League draw with Benfica.

The Argentine legend sat motionless as he stared ahead, glassy-eyed, and Antonella looked sternly at her watch.

It is claimed PSG are ready to let the ‘sated’ Mbappe leave in January.

And Real Madrid were immediately linked with a ‘secret deal’ – which could put Liverpool off a bid.

Messi missed the tie with a calf injury as PSG failed to land the win that would have secured a place in the Champions League knockout stages.

Mbappe seemingly put the French champions on track with a commanding penalty (39 minutes) after Rafa Silva fouled Juan Bernat.

But midway through the second period, Silva was the victim when Marco Verratti blocked him and Joao Mario equalized from the penalty spot.

Meanwhile, Mbappe’s future remains unclear amid conflicting claims.

He is said to believe he made a ‘mistake’ in signing a new three-year deal in May.

But PSG sporting director Luis Campos says Mbappe, 23, ‘never talked about leaving’ in the next transfer window.

However, many fans on social media are hoping for the French world champion to leave – and for Cristiano Ronaldo to join PSG to finally team up with fellow GOAT Messi.
