According to Spanish newspaper ABC, Levi made a $30 payment through Bizum — an instant mobile payment app — on the day he went missing.

It is not clear to whom Levi made the payment.

It comes as a private investigator hired by Levi’s family says he has uncovered “significant leads”.

Gavin Burrows and his London-based company Line of Inquiry have volunteered to help locate the former Bath rugby player.

As part of the investigation, the firm has said it will pay a £10,000 reward for information leading to Levi being found.

“It only came to me recently but we have some important leads that we are following up now and on the ground,” he told GB News.

“There are a number of clues here. And a key appeal today is that when he left Ibiza in October he must have spoken to someone on the ferry during that time. It was a six, seven, eight hour drive.

“He must have spoken to someone when he came to Barcelona or arranged to meet someone in Barcelona. But that person never got in touch.”

He said Levi has not used his bank cards since leaving the Irish pub at 10.05pm.

“For the sake of the family, we need help,” Mr Burrows added.

“We are only appealing to the media and anyone who has seen Levi in the last six weeks, or a possible sighting, please get in touch with us or local police.

“We’ll have to bring it to a successful conclusion in the next few days if not weeks, hopefully because of the pain in the family.”

Levi’s passport was found near a cargo shipment at a port in Barcelona, his mother revealed over the weekend.

Police confirmed Levi’s passport was found in Barcelona’s port area in November – but gave no further information at the time.

“Thank you all for your support and prayers,” she said in a Facebook post.

“There is still no news other than the fact that his passport was found near a cargo shipment.”

Levi’s concerned family traveled to Spain a few weeks ago to help with the search, but despite some possible sightings of Levi, no one has been confirmed as him.

Julie was also told that her son’s phone and bank accounts have still not been used since the last confirmed sighting.

A video message Levi sent her on the day of his disappearance was also released.

In the short clip he can be seen on the ferry from Ibiza to Barcelona.

Recorded midway through the seven-hour journey, Levi’s voice is barely audible over the high winds, but he can be heard saying, “Hi Mum…it’s beautiful.”

Last month, a witness contacted Levi’s family and claimed they saw him on Placa Sant Agusti Vell in Barcelona.

It is believed the same witness said they saw him in another square near the city’s Arc de Triomf monument.

The place is a six minute walk from the Old Irish Pub where Levi was spotted on October 29th.

Levi traveled to Barcelona alone after spending a week in Ibiza and arrived in the city around 7pm.

The former Bath winger had been suffering from depression and had gone on holiday after suffering a knee injury.

The Bath rugby player-turned-reality star appeared on X Factor: Celebrity in 2019 with fellow rugby peers Ben Foden and Thom Evans as part of the group Try Star.
