KELL BROOK wanted to sit down and enjoy a coffee with Amir Khan after ending their ten-year rivalry in brutal fashion.
Finally, the pair of 35-year-old former world champions bragging rights and fame on the line.
In fact, their feud dates back almost two decades as young schoolboys on the England team.
But it was Brook who stayed true to his word after all these years, stopping Khan in six one-way but thrilling rounds.
The pair then embraced in the ring, which could signal England’s newest rivals will become friends overnight.
Brook told Back of Gloves: “I said, ‘Listen, you have the heart of a lion.'” He took some big pictures.
“I said, ‘Listen, let’s put him to bed now.’ We both said we’d put him in bed and maybe go get some coffee for once.
“Whoever gets in that ring, you have to give them that respect. He fought, he only finished second tonight.
“But I know it’s happening.”

Khan admitted later his love for boxing may have faded as he contemplates retiring.
But Brook is optimistically assuring, if he chooses, that he makes another big payday in payday in the ring.
“Everybody knows that I am no longer a chick in the spring,” he said.
“I’m going to sit down with my family, because personally as a boxer, I’m more than that.
“But I’m going to sit down with my immediate family and just see if I should move on.”
