‘Let’s make history together’ – Raheem Sterling ‘can’t wait to get started’ as it is his first time training with Chelsea

RAHEEM STERLING ‘can’t wait to get started’ as the £50m newcomer roared: ‘Let’s make history together.’
The first signing of owner Todd Boehly’s era said: “London is my home” as he trained with his new team-mates for the first time after joining from champions Manchester City on a five-year deal.

Sterling completed his medical in the capital before flying to Los Angeles for Chelsea’s pre-season tour – and is likely to make his debut against Club America on Saturday.
The 27-year-old England attacker sought more regular starts after an Etihad bankroll for much of last season.
And on Chelsea’s Instagram account, he claimed: “So glad to be a Chelsea player now.
“I honestly can’t wait to get started and yes, let’s make history together.”
And in his first public statements, he suggested playing under ex-PSG boss Thomas Tuchel.
Sterling said: “First and foremost, it’s a pleasure to be here.
Of course I have achieved a lot in my career so far, but there is still so much more to achieve.
“I’m really looking forward to doing that in a Chelsea shirt under Thomas’ guidance.

“London is my home and where it all started for me and it’s amazing to now have the opportunity to play in front of friends and family at Stamford Bridge week after week.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans there soon.”

However, Sterling spoke out four years ago after being snubbed by home fans at Stamford Bridge.
He then said, “You can see from my reaction that I just had to laugh because I don’t expect anything better.”
The “deeply embarrassed” fan, who yelled at Sterling, denied he was being racist, saying: “I didn’t call him a black c***, I called him a manc c***.”
