LEICESTER has banned a string of birthday news announcements amid calls for the sacking of manager Brendan Rodgers.
The Foxes boss, 49, has come under fire for his team’s recent performances. They sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with just four points from their first nine games.
And some Leicester fans decided to prank the club by conveying their ‘Sack Rodgers’ agenda in a rather bizarre way.
A fan submitted a request to display a birthday message for the name “Brenda Nout” during their home game against Crystal Palace this weekend.
In the end, however, they were refunded their £20 payment as the club refused to comply.
Another fan sent one off for ‘Zak Rodgers’ but had the same result as Leicester tried to quell public dissatisfaction with their manager.
It came after one social media user said: “If anyone goes to the Palace game on Saturday, I’ve just paid for a birthday announcement for Zak Rodgers.
“If someone is probably in their seat 30 minutes before KO, I’d love to have a picture of that.”
Leicester declined to comment when SunSport raised the matter.
Rodgers clinched their first Premier League win of the season with a convincing 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest last Monday.

But five days later they gave away a first-half lead to lose 2-1 at Bournemouth.
But despite a seventh league loss in nine games, Rodgers insisted after the game that he was taking the situation calmly.
He said: “It’s not about pressure. I know when you’re in the last three there will always be pressure – I understand that.
“But for me, it’s about focusing on the process to get the results.
“We ended up losing that game but we have two home games and we really need to focus on that.”
Rodgers led Leicester to consecutive fifth places in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 Premier League seasons.
He also won the FA Cup with the Foxes last year – the first time the club have lifted the trophy in their history.
Last season, Leicester had a more indifferent tenure but still managed an eighth-place finish in the Prem.
