Accordingly Gianluca DiMarzioEverton are keen to sign Gnonto this summer.

The Toffees narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship last season at the expense of Leeds.

Their last-day win over Bournemouth forced Leeds, who had beaten Tottenham Hotspur, to last.

Everton are now interested in signing one of the best players from their former relegation rivals.

Gnonto scored four goals and provided four assists for Leeds after joining from FC Zurich last summer.

His performance with the relegated Whites during his first season in England has seen him attract the interest of several clubs including Arsenal.

However, any move will likely have to wait as Gnonto is currently on international duty with Italy’s Under-21 squad.

He came on as a second-half substitute in his country’s opening game at the European Championships on Thursday, a 2-1 defeat by France.

Gnonto isn’t the only Leeds player who could immediately return to the top flight either.

Full-back Rasmus Kristensen is on the verge of a move to Serie A club Roma.

He is said to be in advanced talks with the Italian giants who are pushing for a deal with Leeds.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are reportedly considering a move from midfielder Tyler Adams.
