RABBI MATONDO is at the center of a SIX-CLUB summer transfer battle.
Premier League trio Brentford, Leeds and newly promoted Nottingham Forest are all admirers of the Welsh striker.
Matondo, who was on loan at Cercle Brugge last season but is at Schalke, has also attracted interest from French Ligue 1 clubs Lens, Brest and Troyes.
The 21-year-old was unable to find a deal with Belgian club Brugge, where he scored nine goals last season, but is available for £3.5million.
Matondo only has one more year of contract with the Bundesliga club.
The ex-Manchester City star was in the Wales squad for the five June games as Robert Page’s side qualified for the World Cup.
According to reports from Germany, Schalke are hoping for a quick deal as they return to pre-season next Monday.
Leeds’ priority is to keep Etihad target Kalvin Phillips.
The £50million-rated England midfielder, 26, has reportedly told Elland Road bosses he wants to join the Prem champions.
And it’s said City are looking to work out a deal before they head to America for a pre-season tour in July.

Brentford also faces an uphill battle to keep their own star.
Manchester United are favorites for Bees playmaker Christian Eriksen ahead of old club Tottenham.
The Denmark and ex-Inter Milan star told Viaplay: “I have different offers and options that we consider and then we make a decision.
“I would like to play Champions League football again. I know how fun it is, but it’s not necessarily for me.”
Meanwhile, Forest have opened talks with United over the loan of England goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who has also been linked with Newcastle.
