And Barca, as well as Arsenal and Tottenham, are keen on Leeds’ Brazilian winger Raphinha.

Sheffield United’s Sander Berge is also on the Whites’ radar as Manchester City are set to rush Kalvin Phillips, Leeds’ fulcrum in midfield.

Traore – along with PSG youngster Arnaud Kalimuendo – has emerged as an affordable target at £20m.

Leeds transfer boss Victor Orta signed the wideman from Aston Villa for Middlesbrough in 2016 and remains a fan.

Spanish star Traore, 26, shone on loan at Barcelona in the second half of last season.

But Nou’s camp bosses admitted their “difficult financial situation” was a major obstacle to his retention.

Alongside Traore, Leeds’ wish-list includes Norwegian midfield ace Berge, who joined Genk-based Blades in 2020 for a club-record £22million.

The West Yorkshire man is approaching Bayern Munich’s Spain defensive midfielder Marc Roca but doesn’t see him as a replacement for Phillips.

And although Berge has played a more advanced role for Sheffield United than Phillips at Leeds, he could sit alongside Roca in a revamped squad.

City are ready to move for Englishman Phillips, with Cityzen midfielder Romeo Lavia, 18, as a potential replacement in the deal.

RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams is another option in the middle of the park.

Jesse Marsch has already injected £35m into RB Salzburg’s Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen.
