Lee Health will no longer perform its duties of vaccinating employees

LEE COUNTY
Lee Health said it will no longer be in the business of vaccinating employees.
The health system initially said it would, but backed off on Thursday night.
Lee Health announced that because a federal judge decided to authorize President Joe Biden, the federal agency that would enforce it now will not.
Initially, Lee Health required more than 13,000 of its employees to be fully vaccinated by January 4.
A federal judge has issued a nationwide stay-at-home order for the mandate that means it’s on hold.
If a federal court extends the stay, Lee Health will have to decide whether to authorize the vaccination again.
“It’s a confusing issue for both employers and employees because workers don’t know exactly what their right to cite is. And employers are trying to make sure they’re not infringing,” said Employment Attorney Scott Atwood of the Henderson Franklin Law Firm.
