Lee Health starts calling home as facilities fill up with COVID patients

As hospitals continue to fill up and clinics remain empty for long waits, some people wonder what to do if they need care. Lee Health is providing another option to get what you need.

Lee Health sent out an enthusiastic appeal urging people to think before visiting its locations as COVID-19 begins to fill its facilities once again. Armando Llechu is the hospital executive director at Lee Health. “Our hospitals are almost at full capacity…,” said Llechu.

This message is important to Lee Health as they held a press conference earlier this week to show how much stress COVID has put on the system. Dr. Larry Antonucci is the CEO of Lee Health. Dr Antonucci said: “Our Lee Convenience is also facing very long wait times and an amazing increase in patient demand.

To reduce the load, this health system is currently calling home. They send a team to where you live and offer convenient visits from your own home.

Dr. Scott Nygaard is the COO of Lee Health. “Medical dispatch is a new service we offer to Lee Health. And you can schedule an appointment for them to come to your house in the car. They provide an in-home assessment and service,” says Dr. Nygaard.

The price for these calls to the home is the same as for an emergency medical visit. You can book an appointment from any of Lee Health’s online platforms. Then the visits are supervised by a doctor.

“BILLIONFor this please do a test, evaluate at your home and possibly prescribe medical treatment. Or, if you need a lab test, you may have to go somewhere else to do it. But it’s an in-home service that really comes directly to your home,” says Dr.

A referral is not required to use the service and calls will cover the same conditions as an onsite clinic. However, this service is not for emergencies.

“We’re asking people to be selective about where they go to get the right care,” said Dr Nygaard.

This is Lee Health’s newest selection. It also offers remote visits, which are currently free.
