Law and Order: SVU fans furious as Benson and Stabler’s ‘Kiss’ episode rerun airs, insisting the show is ‘torturing’ them

LAW and Order fans were furious after finding a rerun of the SVU episode airing Thursday in lieu of a new episode.

Viewers haven’t been so patiently waiting to see what’s to come on the show after a promo teased Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler who appeared to be kissing.

One angry fan simply tweeted, “Why is #SVU a rerun!”

Another angry viewer insisted, “They want to torture us after that promo last week.”

A third wanted to know: “Why do we have to wait?”

A fourth agreed, writing: “I know, especially after the promo then let’s wait 2 weeks.”

“You got us dirty with this promo and now the wait,” tweeted another angry fan. “Rude!”

For years, fans have been begging to see Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) get together romantically.

After years away from the franchise, viewers felt it was a lost cause.

Slowly, after Christopher returned as Elliot for his own spinoff Law & Order: Organized Crime, fans began to find hope again.

The promo trailer that debuted last week only fueled that hope.

The teaser clip for Season 24 Episode 12 shows the former partners hugging intimately and ready to kiss.

Olivia tries to lock up the man who tried to kill her son, but she can’t do it alone.

So she called her old partner and things heated up.

A long shot of Olivia and Elliot shows them standing in their kitchen with their arms around his neck.

The camera then zooms in on them and Olivia holds onto Elliot’s face like she’s about to kiss him.

But the scene cuts off there, revealing the date for the next episode, keeping fans in suspense.

Law & Order fans immediately started freaking out over the supposed kiss, commenting on it on social media.

“Even if they don’t kiss, physically this is the closest and most intimate thing they’ve ever experienced. THIS IS HUGE!!!” wrote one.

“If I tell you I did a flip in my living room, then started hyperventilating and started crying… I’m not kidding. Bring it to Bensler, show us what you’ve got,” said one excited fan.

A third added: “Did anyone else rewind, pause, slow motion, stood in front of the TV at least 100 times for that final scene to understand what was going on as I did. No? My eyes were shaking!”

“I literally FALLED on my knees when I saw it, my eyes still can’t believe it,” wrote another fan.
