Americans with CASH STRAPS in California were among those lining up to receive stimulus checks worth up to $1,100.
States including Florida and Michigan are also offering taxpayer financial assistance at a time when the fourth round of federal payment seems very unlikely.
Thousands of Californians will receive payments worth up to $1100 in the coming weeks as part of Governor Gavin Newsom’s Golden State Stimulus II initiative.
Residents who live in an area with a zip code ending in 928-999 will have their stimulus checks deposited through January 11.
Americans should receive their checks no later than February 1.
It can take up to three weeks to receive paper checks once they are posted.
Californians are required to file their taxes by October 15 if they want to receive their state stimulus check.
Recipients must live in the Golden State for half of the 2020 tax year and be a resident on the date the payment is issued.
At least nine million people are expected to receive a state stimulus check before the end of the year.
Financial assistance is also being offered to residents in Maine, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan and Tennessee.
Residents of Maine start receiving stimulus payments on November 15.

To qualify, Americans must receive wages, salaries, and tips and must not be declared a dependent on someone else’s tax return.
The program qualifies for single taxpayers earning $75,000 and joint filers earning $150,000 or less.
Marylanders may receive a stimulus payment under the state “RELIEF Act.”
Eligible family receive a $500 check, while individuals can receive $300 in payment.
A total of 422,531 Maryland residents are eligible to receive state payments — with 98% of them receiving payments in February, according to Comptroller’s Office.

Officials in Florida are sending stimulus payments to pre-K first responders to 12th grade teachers. If eligible, recipients can pocket a one-time $1,000 payment .
Goverment Ron DeSantis said the program will support about 175,000 teachers and 3,600 principals.
Georgia has also provided $1,000 stimulus payments to teachers and principal in recognition of their work during the pandemic.
Officials in Michigan is handing out $1,000 bonuses to childcare professionals as part of the Child Care Stabilization Grant, according to United States Today.
Some will receive bonuses from employers and do not need to apply for benefits.
In Tennessee, full-time teachers are eligible for $1,000 in risk pay, while part-time teachers may be eligible for up to $500.
Meanwhile, Americans are eligible for plus payments are being urged to file a tax return or risk missing the checks as today’s deadline (December 31) approaches.
IRS officials warn that they will not send out-of-date checks.
Taxpayers must earn less in 2020 than they did in 2019 if they want to be considered for the plus payment.
The recipient may have lost income due to the Covid pandemic or they may have added a dependent to their tax return.
