On October 1, 2017, the 64-year-old Paddock opened fire on the country music festival-goers from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel with an arsenal of semi-automatic weapons.

Authorities have never determined a motive for the lone wolf’s attack on the Las Vegas Strip.

The former US Postal, IRS and Department of Defense employee killed himself before he could be arrested and left no manifesto or social media posts explaining why he had carried out the meticulously planned mass murder.

Philippine-born Marilou released a statement immediately afterwards expressing her shock – but has since declined to speak publicly about the high-stakes player she met while working as a high-limit hostess in met at a Reno casino.

She now lives in a multi-million dollar condo with her daughter Sheila Darcey, 47, and son-in-law Micah Linton, 50.

When The US Sun knocked on her address ahead of the anniversary and asked to speak to Marilou, Sheila said: “She is unable to speak. She is still in the healing process.”

When asked if Marilou had anything to say that might help clear up the unanswered questions for the victims’ families, Sheila said “No.”

Earlier that day, the mother and daughter were spotted in Los Angeles.

An eyewitness said: “They went to a CVS and Marilou stayed in the car. Sheila went in to get some dog food.

“Later they went to another address around noon and then went back home.”

Last year, the families of the victims of the Route 91 Harvest music festival massacre finally got justice when more than 4,400 plaintiffs were awarded an $800 million settlement in a lawsuit against casino owner MGM Grand.

NO UNIQUE FACTOR BEHIND THE ATTACK

After investigating Paddock’s background for over a year, the FBI concluded that there was “no single or clear motivating factor” behind his attack.

Investigators determined that he was not driven by any religious, social, or political agenda and that he acted alone.

Officials wrote: “Throughout his life Paddock made great efforts to keep his thoughts private, and that extended to his final thoughts on this mass murder.”

Marilou was out of the country to visit family in the Philippines when Paddock triggered the death from above in Sin City.

Two weeks before the shooting, he informed her that he had booked her a cheap flight to her home country.

When she was there, he sent her money and asked her to buy a house for herself and her family.

Marilou said it made her think he was breaking up with her.

After the shooting, she flew back to the United States and was picked up at LAX airport by FBI agents for questioning.

SILENT MURDERER

In a statement released by her lawyer at the time, she said she never imagined “kind, caring, calm” Paddock would be capable of what he did.

The statement said: “It never occurred to me that he was plotting violence against anyone.

“I am a mother and grandmother and my heart breaks for all those who have lost loved ones.”

As the nation prepares to mark the fifth anniversary of the tragedy, survivors have shared their stories for a new four-hour documentary titled 11 Minutes.

Festival-goers, musicians, police officers, paramedics, nurses and doctors told the Paramount+ miniseries how they still live with the horror of what they witnessed that day.

Meanwhile, Marilou has chosen to stay away from the limelight in Venice, a beach community that’s home to movie stars like Margot Robbie and Crocodile Dundee actor Paul Hogan.

The mansion where she lives with Sheila and Michah is described by real estate website Zillow as a five bedroom, four bath mansion that is estimated to be worth $2 million.

In a rare social media photo from June, Marilou was seen with Micah’s family at a luxury Malibu ranch celebrating her son-in-law’s birthday and Father’s Day.

Micah’s father is millionaire Bill Linton, founder and CEO of Promega, a Wisconsin-based biotechnology company now worth $450 million.

Marilou was also snapped three years ago in a photo with her sisters Liza Werner and Amelia Manango, who both live in Australia.

Before Marilou married American citizen Geary Danley and moved to the United States in 1989, Marilou lived Down Under for 10 years and became an Australian citizen. She was married to Danley for 25 years.

While Marilou is laying down, Sheila and Micah are active online and on social media, both working to combine art and therapy.

Sheila helps people draw to overcome mental health issues like anxiety.

She also advocates for gun control and domestic violence.

After the Illinois Independence Day shooting that year that killed seven people, Sheila shared a collage that referenced Black Lives Matter and abortion, saying “images hit hard.”

She told her followers that “after hearing about another shooting in Chicago at a July 4th parade, I had to share this collage and sobering words…this is America.”

Meanwhile, her husband Micah is a talented artist and psychologist specializing in trauma.

According to his personal website, he “uses art as language in therapy, [which] is using all our capacities to find a more successful solution to our difficulties.”
