Las Palmas star Jonathan Viera’s Lamborghini smashed when his friend ‘hit a tree after mounting the sidewalk’

FORMER Premiership Goal Jonathan Viera’s Lamborghini was destroyed in a forgettable weekend after his side lost 0-1.
The 32-year-old attacking midfielder took to social media to deny he was at the wheel of a sports car – and blamed the collision on a friend he lent it to – after Photos of the damage appear.
Viera, who was linked with the likes of Newcastle before he signed with Chinese Super League club Beijing Sinobo Guoan in February 2018 joined current side UD Las Palmas to lose at home to Spanish second division rivals Eibar.
He wrote: “After publishing the observable photos of the aftermath of the accident that my car has suffered, I would like to inform those who have expressed concern about my health that I didn’t drive that car.
“The car was driven by a friend, who was fortunately in perfect health.”
Local reports say the Lamborghini veered off the roadside and crashed into a tree in an accident in which no other vehicle is believed to be involved.
The image shows the front and left side of the sports car overturned and the front pavement heavily damaged by trees.
Police were called to the scene of the crash, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday at the popular resort of Playa del Ingles south of Gran Canaria.
