FOREST LAKE, Illustration – When the weather turns cold, it turns out there’s still plenty of work you can do in your yard to renovate your garden for next spring.
Experts say this time of year is ideal for mulching, which helps nourish perennials and improve ground cover.

Pruning is also recommended at this time of year, both to help prevent wildlife damage and to preserve the tree’s ability to develop fruit and reproduce.
