Lakers star Russell Westbrook slammed for ‘cold’ gesture as fans claimed ‘Bron would never do that’

RUSSELL Westbrook was slammed by fans after a video of him surfaced online.

The Los Angeles Lakers star starred in a TikTok clip where he appeared to be ignoring a young fan.

The point guard, 34, climbed out of the rear of a black SUV in the clip.

A fan approached him and held out a T-shirt and a felt-tip pen to the NBA star.

The young supporter apparently wanted an autograph from the Lakers star.

But Westbrook looked straight ahead and walked through a door seemingly oblivious.

The video circulated on social media with fans questioning his actions.

One wrote: “I know autographs get tiring but it doesn’t cost you anything to do a children’s day.

“You will remember this encounter for the rest of your life.”

Another said: “Can’t wait till the day he’s not a Laker.”

And another wrote: “Bron would never do that.”

But some fans also suggested the kid might have been trying to sell a signed shirt.

One fan wrote: “You know all the people who use kids to sell those autographs are there too, right?

“That’s why they know exactly when they’re going to get to their hotel, which may or may not be the case.”

And someone else wrote: “In Russ’ defense, this guy just wants some alone time. Athletes don’t work 24/7.”

Westbrook has had a rough time for the Los Angeles Lakers lately.

Earlier this month, he missed the last game in a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

And Laker fans were less than happy with the game’s ending.
