Sandy (@sand griffins) described Private Selection’s Spicy Pineapple Ginger Rum Sauce as one of its “finest works.”
She said it was an “insult” that Kroger discontinued the product.
Kroger apologized to Sandy before explaining why the item was dropped.
They said: “This decision was made due to poor sales within the division.”

The Barbecue Sauce cannot be purchased from the retailer’s website.
But shoppers can pick up a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray’s original barbecue sauce for $2.49.
Shoppers can save as there is 1 offer to buy and 1 free offer for the product.
Kroger’s “honeyed” barbecue sauce retails for less than $1.50, while Rib Rack’s original BBQ sauce fetches shoppers $4.29.
The grocery chain has also stopped selling bags of Private Selection Sweet Southern Heat grill chips.
Customers were furious when the retailer shared the news.
The decision came to light when a buyer known as Renee (@renee41961), said her family couldn’t find the snack at a Kroger store in the White House, Tennessee.
Renee claimed the chips were “the best” out there.
Buddy Kroger Shopper Mercedes (@mspalter06) claimed she needed the snack.
She raged: “I had to buy bags at once because my kids are stealing mine. Of course something I love so much would go away.”
Not only has Kroger discontinued products from the Private Selection line, the retailer has also eliminated other popular treats.
The supermarket giant recently discontinued its own-brand lactose-free chocolate milk.
It stopped selling a type of grapefruit juice, leading some customers to threaten to buy from competitors like Walmart.
Kroger came under fire when it announced it confirmed its Buffalo Ranch popcorn was discontinued.
The retailer said the decision was made due to poor sales, but the statement offered little comfort to the heartbroken shoppers.

One customer even urged Kroger to “think about the kids” after the decision.
Kroger has also stopped selling its popular buffalo-style stuffed chicken bites.
