Kokonut Koalition completes grueling restore of stair hike


HONOLULU (KHON2) — It took three years and trekking a whole lot of hundreds of kilos of supplies up and down a mountain, however a volunteer challenge to restore the Koko Crater tramway stairs is completed.

Saturday, the Kokonut Koalition put in the final step on the fashionable mountaineering path. The non-profit group introduced in a whole lot of volunteers, working each weekend and lots of weekdays to maneuver by hand each single bolt, screw, bucket of gravel and lumber up and down the steep 1,048 step mountain.
