KIM Kardashian has been criticized by fans after they noticed she was endorsing a controversial brand.
The Hulu star posted Instagram Stories on Saturday to show off some products from fashion house Balenciaga.
Kim, 42, previously said she was “disgusted and outraged” by the brand following its controversial campaigns featuring children.
In the Stories, the Skims founder captured a sparkly iPad case and a shopping bag while standing by a car at night.
Kim waved the bag back and forth, showing its sparkle catching the light from her cell phone flashlight.
At the bottom of the screen, partially obscured by the messaging feature, she tagged Balenciaga.
Observant fans took to Reddit and criticized the mother of four for her continued support of the brand.
One person complained: “Kim supports everyone as long as she has influence and money.”
“Greed runs deep,” a second social media user added.
“It has to be canceled…” raged a third.
Another critic asked, “So she ‘re-evaluated’ her relationship and then decided she didn’t care?” OK then…”
Fans’ anger came after Kim spoke out about Balenciaga last year after the luxury company ran an ad showing children holding bears adorned with BDSM accessories.
Kim, who represents the brand, released a statement saying, “I have been quiet these past few days not because I have not been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga action.”but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened.
“As a mother of four children, the disturbing images shocked me.
“Children’s safety must be a top priority and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society – period.”
She continued: “I appreciate that Balenciaga has stopped campaigning and apologized. When I talk to them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the problem and will take the necessary measures to ensure that something like this never happens again.”
After her statement was condemned for not promising to cut ties with the house, she released another.
The later article read: “As far as I’m concernedWith Balenciaga, I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand based on their willingness to take responsibility for something that should never have happened in the first place – and the actions I believe they will take to protect children .
Amid the drama, Kim was criticized for seemingly siding with the brand after the reality star shared a photo of herself wearing pieces from the Adidas x Balenciaga collaboration.
Although fans expressed their dissatisfaction with Kim’s mixed messages about Balenciaga, she further fueled the fire by selling Balenciaga clothing on her resale site.
In January, the star donated $36,000 worth of the brand’s clothing and accessories to Kardashian Kloset.
The resale items varied widely in price, from a $350 scarf to a $1,515 mocha brown tracksuit.
One particular item, described as a rare “multi-colored blue and black beaded and sequin embroidered hourglass coat” from Balenciaga, cost its buyer $10,395.
