KIM Kardashian was slammed for taking her multi-million dollar private jet on a 17-minute flight that covered just 35 miles and allegedly emitted 2 tons of CO2 in the process.
According to online flight trackers, the quick jaunt between two neighboring Southern California cities cost about 145 gallons of kerosene at a cost of $914.
On Reddit, fans couldn’t believe the reality star would take such a polluting trip.
“Camarillo to Van Nuys is a 40-60 minute drive,” one person wrote. “If she really needed to save that time, a helicopter would have more than sufficed.”
While another agreed: “Environmental devastation > 40 minute drive I guess?”
A follower asked why the entire family isn’t being ostracized for their behavior: “The Kardashian family’s environmental destruction is unfathomable.
“Flying is one of the absolute worst things you can do to the planet.
“Why aren’t people calling them out on their impact on the climate crisis?”
Still, one fan simply had enough: “I never want to see Kim post anything about our climate. What a disgusting display.”
Kim has recently ramped up her flights to the friendly skies, taking her snazzy new plane on several cross-country trips from her California home to East Coast layovers in Orlando or Washington, DC
And often the trips are for personal pleasure.
Kim caused controversy last weekend when she jetted all the way to Orlando, where she and boyfriend Pete Davidson were caught leaving tourist hotspot Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
The famous attraction houses the iconic dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang the famous song “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy in 1962 in Madison Square Garden to celebrate his 45th birthday.
And fans took to Reddit with their theories that the trip could be related to her attire for the upcoming Met Gala.
Just days earlier, Kim and Pete, 28, flew to Washington, DC for a romantic date night at an awards show.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum and the King of Staten Island star were among the many celebrity guests who walked into the Kennedy Center in the American capital on Sunday.
They attended the 23rd Annual Mark Twain Awards for Humor, which honored comedian Jon Stewart.
And again, the fans on Reddit were beside themselves.
“I’ve heard about and cared about climate change since I was a kid,” one fan commented. “I feel so disheartened at how little the people who matter are caring.”
Another added: “Children are starving in the United States (and other parts of the world) and then there are these rich assholes jetting around the country. eat the F**king. Rich.”
And one fan followed Kim’s apologies: “It sickens me that so many people blindly defend this woman who would literally never spit on her if they were on fire.”
Back in February, the reality star bought her brand new plane, which seats about 18 guests and is rumored to cost almost $150 million.
The jet was christened Kim Air and guests were greeted with a welcome mat bearing the name as they boarded the aircraft.
They had a sumptuous breakfast in their seats at tables decorated with textured nude placemats and cream vases with roses.
While Kim spent millions buying the plane, maintaining the G650ER will also come at a high cost.
For every 200 hours of flight per year, the TV star is expected to spend $400,000 in fuel costs and another $100,000 on maintenance.
