Kim Jong-un’s ‘180ft mystery superyacht’ has been spotted near a luxury mega-mansion as the tyrant has been missing for nearly two weeks

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un’s mysterious superyacht has been seen for the first time after the tyrant went missing for several weeks.

The mammoth ship was spotted at an exclusive resort on North Korea’s east coast near a string of new villas owned by Kim’s cronies.

Kim’s apparent stay on his 55-metre mega-yacht comes as rumors swirl about the dictator’s continued absence from public life.

To date, North Korea’s leader has not appeared on state television for 12 days, his second-longest hiatus this year after another 19 days away from the spotlight in July.

Images from Planet Labs show the megayacht parked on a beach on the Hodo Peninsula, north of the seaside resort of Wonsan, between August 3 and 5.

A smaller 60 ft (18 m) boat is parked alongside the yacht and further down the beach in separate settings.

Kim’s distinctive superyacht can be seen with her red roof running the length of it, setting her apart from his larger white-roofed boats and slightly smaller blue-roofed boats of a similar build.

This is the first time the yacht has been captured in satellite imagery on this particular beach, which can only be reached by sea or small roads far from big cities.

The last time Planet Labs’ images captured a boat parked in the same spot was in August 2016, when Kim’s 50m megayacht was spotted there.

His famous red-roofed yacht was spotted at one of Kim’s seaside villas on the leader’s Wonsan compound in April 2020, when it was painted green instead.

It also appeared in a separate mansion owned by Kim on the Hodo Peninsula shortly after the home was completed in July 2019.

The yacht has been spotted several times in recent months as Kim became increasingly reclusive.

When the bully last disappeared in July, it was first seen at anchor on Sin Island off the coast of Wonsan, while it was sighted on nearby Tae Island in April.

It was repaired or upgraded at Kim’s private marina in central Wonsan in May.

Kim’s largest superyacht, his 60m vessel, was also recently spotted being taken out of storage and placed off its main beach in Wonsan between August 5 and 10.

The massive ship features two water slides, an Olympic-size pool and a multi-level lounge, and has been dubbed a “floating amusement park.”

Last year, the North Korean leader’s largest yacht was spotted on Kim’s private beach at his villa in Wonsan, NK News reported.

Kim has been appearing less and less in public in recent years, sparking speculation about his health.

He has increasingly retreated to his luxury palaces as the country battles a devastating Covid pandemic and economic catastrophe.

Owning a string of villas and yachts, the North Korean elite live a life of sickening luxury while many of their people starve.

But that hasn’t stopped Kim’s saber-rattling with the West, with the tyrant claiming last month that North Korea is “ready to mobilize its nuclear weapons at any time in new conflict threats.”

It was claimed this week that North Korea was preparing to send 100,000 volunteers to Russia to support its war against Ukraine.

Speaking on Russian state television Channel One, defense expert Igor Korotchenko said: “There are reports that 100,000 North Korean volunteers are ready to come and take part in the conflict, and that North Korean construction workers are ready to work with us.”

The Russian journalist called the troops “resilient, undemanding and motivated” and said the Kremlin “shouldn’t be shy about accepting the hand Kim Jong-un extended to us.”
