Kiley Kennedy, an 18-year-old student at Eureka High School, was recently found dead near Highway 100 in Pacific, Missouri. Two 16-year-olds were later arrested for shooting the victim.
Her body was discovered by authorities from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office around 7 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Greater St. Louis was later assigned to further investigate the incident.
Officials said seizing a 9mm handgun from a home in the Pacific and marking it as a “murder weapon” could lead to the arrests of the teenagers. Rockwood School District spoke to KSDK about the situation and said counseling has been arranged for all those affected by Kiley Kennedy’s death:
“Please join us in expressing our deepest sympathies to Kiley’s family and friends, as well as the students and staff at Eureka High School. Let’s continue to put our arms around each other and do all we can to find a way to heal together through this difficult time.”
Kiley Kennedy’s colleague Mackenzie Shelton also arranged a GoFundMe campaigned to raise funds for the former’s funeral expenses and to support her family. The fundraiser has received over $4000 in donations.
Who is Kiley Kennedy?
Kiley Kennedy was a high school student and working professional from Eureka and was recently fatally shot by two teenage boys near Pacific, Missouri. She is said to be heading to Country Air Drive when she gets into a melee with suspects over money and drugs.
She was shot in the chest once and fought off a gunshot wound before authorities discovered her body. Kiley’s brother, Logan Kennedy, said on Facebook that his sister is a dancer, skater and loves animals. He said that she was loved by everyone who knew her.
Logan says his family is seeking justice but also asks for everyone’s understanding and concern:
“At this time, a lot of people are wanting justice, and our family wants it too. However, we have to renew grace. The person who did this was human, and made a mistake. big, has broken many people’s lives. However, we cannot turn my sister’s life into darkness. We must pray for that person or those involved.”
Sheriff Steve Pelton from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that Kiley Kennedy’s death was tragic, especially because she was so young:
“It’s tragic when a life in general is lost, but to have someone so young and suspects so young is disappointing. So as a community, we need to be there to take care of it. support the victim’s family and friends when it happens. about it.”

The two suspects have been charged with second-degree murder and are currently being held in St. Charles. However, their names have yet to be released as they are being accused of being minors.
