A 14-year-old girl who was locked up, kidnapped, beaten and gang raped has been rescued.
Police officers were able to track the teen’s phone using Snapchat’s GPS to a residence in the Cabucelle district of Marseille, France on Friday night.
The young woman, who has not been named, is believed to have been lured into the tiny apartment by a 26-year-old man who offered to rent it to her after she ran away last week.
But she is believed to have smoked marijuana before the suspect and another 64-year-old man allegedly raped her.
The teenager, who later told police she was forced to perform oral sex, was taken to hospital for treatment before being released back home to her family.
The two men have since been arrested and charged with kidnapping and raping a minor on Sunday, but maintained the sex was consensual.
Police were first alerted to the abduction by the girl’s parents early Friday morning when she sent a message via Instagram while her captors were asleep.
She explained that she had been kidnapped and beaten but was too disoriented to determine where she had been taken.
The girl was then asked to turn on her location on Snapchat to allow the police to track her down.
Since then, she is said to have kept in touch with officers through messaging apps – fearing that speaking out would wake her captors.
Once the police found the apartment building, they began knocking on doors from house to house until the teen texted “yes” to confirm they had the correct apartment.
And when they stormed into the tiny apartment, police are said to have discovered one of the suspects was trying to erase evidence from his phone while he was in custody.
The results of the examination showed that the victim was addicted to drugs and had to be hospitalized.
She then underwent a medical examination and confirmed that she had signs of “anal damage”, according to local media.
