Kevin Spacey wants to ‘prove his innocence’ in a British court over sexual assault charges.

DISGRACED actor Kevin Spacey has vowed to “prove his innocence” after being accused of four counts of sexual assault.
The 62-year-old double Oscar winner is wanted back to the UK by British authorities, who will seek formal extradition if he does not return voluntarily.

He is accused of historic sexual assaults against three young men but can only be formally charged if he returns to the UK.
But in a new statement to Good Morning America, Spacey has confirmed he will be appearing in the UK “voluntarily”.
A spokesman for the House of Cards actor said: “I appreciate the statement from prosecutors as they carefully remind the media and public that I am entitled to a fair trial and am innocent until proven otherwise.
“While I am disappointed in their decision to go ahead, I will appear voluntarily in the UK as soon as this can be arranged and defend myself against these charges, which I am confident will prove my innocence.”

Allegations of sexual misconduct first surfaced against the actor in 2017 by Anthony Rapp, who filed a civil lawsuit in 2020.
Later that year, the Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after receiving multiple complaints related to the star.
A file was turned over to prosecutors last April, and further investigations have been ongoing since then.
American beauty star Spacey was interviewed by the Met under caution in 2019.
Police last week gave the green light to charge Spacey with four counts of sexually assaulting three male complainants, all now in their 30s and 40s.
Four of the charges are said to have taken place in London and one in Gloucestershire.
He faces a fifth count against one of them, allegedly causing her to engage in penetrative sex without consent – which can carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.
The alleged crimes stem from when Spacey was artistic director of London’s Old Vic between 2004 and 2015.
Three of the sexual assaults are believed to have occurred in London between 2005 and 2008, and the fourth in Gloucestershire in 2013.
The penetrative sex offense is said to have been committed in the capital in 2008.
Rosemary Ainslie, chief of the CPS Special Crime Division, said: “The CPS has authorized a criminal complaint against Kevin Spacey, 62, for sexually assaulting three men on four counts.
“He was also charged with tricking a person into engaging in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The charges follow a review of evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police as part of their investigation.
“The prosecution reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings are pending against Mr. Spacey and that he has the right to a fair trial.”
