Kelly Ripa fans are furious over Generation Gap’s abrupt schedule change and ‘weird’ show format change

KELLY Ripa’s fans have shared their frustration after Generation Gap aired a repeat episode.
Viewers were confused when the ABC game show aired a repeat of season one on Thursday.
Donny Osmond appeared as one of the celebrities in the episode, which was originally scheduled to air in September 2022.
Kelly, 52, hosts the competition, in which children answer questions about pop culture alongside their grandparents.
Thursday’s episode featured an old format of the show with only two groups of participants.
Fans responded to the rerun on Kelly’s Instagram, writing, “Love the show but there was a rerun tonight.”

Another confused viewer commented: “Tonight’s show seems weird to me. Only two groups of participants and I didn’t hear Kelly say why?”
A third user was similarly stunned, asking, “Why only two teams tonight?”
“Is season two over? Is this from season one? I don’t remember it,” someone else demanded.
Last month, due to her Generation Gap duties, Kelly missed several episodes of Live with Kelly and Mark, which she normally co-hosts daily with husband Mark Consuelos.

Prominent presenters such as Andy Cohen, Anderson Cooper and Maria Menounos filled in during their free time.
Her recent absence came after she joked she wouldn’t return to Live if she won the lottery.
After discussing a night out in the New York heat, Kelly let the audience on Monday’s show know she “may not be here tomorrow.”
“Listen, just so you know,” she said while picking up a piece of paper from the desk.
“I probably won’t be here tomorrow or forever because I’m going to crack the $900 million Powerball.”
The audience cheered as Mark giggled.
Kelly said her plan is to move to the south of France while Mark stays behind to work on the show with actress Jenny Mollen.
“No one will even notice I’m gone. They’ll just think I’ve done my job,” Kelly joked.
“It will be great. I figured the whole thing out.”

She continued, “I’ll miss you all, but thanks.”
