Kelly Ripa demands crowd ‘stop applauding’ for husband Mark Consuelos after live guest record co-host made ‘lies’

TALK show host Kelly Ripa has clapped back to fans on Live! Featuring Kelly and Ryan for applauding her husband, Mark Consuelos’ insincere comment on the show.

During an episode of Live!, Kelly chided the audience for clapping when her husband Mark “lied” that if anything happened to his wife, he would “never date him again.”

Earlier in the week, the 51-year-old was a guest co-host on his other half’s morning show, replacing her original host Ryan Seacrest, 48, for the day.

During the episode, the couple struck up a conversation about who Mark would be dating if Kelly was “out of the picture.”

She admitted that if anything “would happen” to either of them personally or just to their relationship, she couldn’t “imagine” Mark dating a “younger person.”

The 52-year-old actress clarified that she could see him dating someone “obviously” younger than him since he’s in his 50s, but not someone her “daughter’s” age.

The soap opera star starred and asked his former All My Children co-star where the “Mendoza line” for minimum age was, to which she replied, “Tell me.”

Encouraging a reluctant Mark to respond, Kelly reminded him of a “rule” he gave her when it came to dating to help him respond.

“What’s the rule? You gave me a rule once,” Kelly fished as she prompted him to open up.

Finally, Mark revealed his rule, explaining that he wouldn’t date younger than “half” his age “plus seven years”.

A WOMAN MAN

He did quick mental math to calculate the minimum age for his hypothetical dates live on air.

When he was done, he admitted that anyone he would see after Kelly had to be at least “33,” since that was half his age plus seven.

Mark made it clear that he would never date anyone whose age is “under” 33, hypothetically speaking.

Kelly expressed that Mark seeing someone at 33 would “still be weird”.

She went on to say that she could see him meeting someone who was “40-45.”

Mark ended the discussion and affectionately said to his spouse, “I would never go out again if anything happened to you,” earning him a great deal of “awe” from the crowd.

Kelly immediately sidetracked her husband’s cute remark, embarrassing the audience for applauding her.

“Don’t welcome that, don’t welcome his lying in the open.”

As she spoke, Mark tried to grab and hold her hand.

There is a chance that Mark Ryan will be featured as a presenter on Live! replaced.

Live last year! Executives began pursuing him to come on board as the new host because Ryan had been “spread too thin”.

Ryan recently announced that Live! after six years.

An insider close to the situation exclusively told The US Sun that his absence from the daytime talk show has given Kelly’s husband Mark more opportunities to shine on the programme.

“Ryan has many different responsibilities and there has been a lot of discussion about what’s next for Live and ABC have focused on Mark as a natural fit.

“The intimacy with Ryan and Kelly has been really good, but bringing Mark in takes the chemistry to another level,” the source said.

Mark has filled in for Ryan several times on the show – including for a week in December.

The insider continued, “At that point the audience reaction when Mark was co-host was fantastic. By filling it out regularly, ABC was able to clearly measure audience approval.”

Meanwhile, a source close to Ryan countered that despite claims the ubiquitous host is too thinly distributed, he is actually leaving “because he has other interests he wants to pursue long-term.”
