KANYE West’s boyfriend Jason Lee has revealed why the Donda star has really disappeared from social media and public life after his nasty feud with Kim Kardashian.
The rapper made a series of public outbursts against his ex-wife during their divorce.
However, things went quiet after Kanye, 44, dropped out of Coachella in April and deleted all of his Instagram posts.
In an interview with Complex, Kanye’s personal friend and new head of media partnerships, Jason Lee, 43, opened up about the rapper’s recent silence on social media.
“Ye is the only person in control of Ye,” he said of the enigmatic designer, hitmaker, and Kardashian drama protagonist.
Alluding to the strained situation with Kim, 41, Jason says Kanye is now focused on family.
“He made the decision to put him and his kids first — for the first time.”
The Yeezy billionaire shares North, eight; saint, six; Chicago, four; and Psalm, three, with his reality star ex.
However, Kanye recently broke his silence to announce a collaboration with McDonald’s.
Speaking of the Atlanta native’s future, Jason said, “He has some amazing people around him to advise and support him in his creative vision.”
However, the new media chief chose not to defend Kanye’s past actions, saying, “It doesn’t make what he’s said or done in the past okay.”
LOVERS NO MORE
Kim filed for divorce in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage and a year of tumultuous ups and downs — including Kanye’s failed presidential campaign.
Since then, he has taken a stand against his ex-wife with his music and social media posts.
Furious that she is moving on, he has launched nasty attacks on Kim’s new boyfriend Pete Davidson, 28.
Kanye stormed off the set of Saturday Night Live when Kim was hosting and was outraged when she kissed Pete in a scripted skit.
In an interview with Hollywood Unlocked, the outraged ex said, “How are you going to take me to SNL and then kiss the guy you’re with right in front of me?”
The father-of-four bought the $4.5 million home right across the street from Kim’s $60 million LA mansion.
Then he released a new song called EAZY which threatened her boyfriend.
The track was followed by two disturbing music videos that featured an animated character in which he was a character resembling Pete.
But the SNL star fought back, texting the embittered ex: “I’ve decided I won’t let you be treated like this anymore and I’m done being quiet.
“Grow the fuck up.”
Meanwhile, Kim and Kanye are trying to navigate their new parenting relationship while he’s been spending time with his new girlfriend Chaney Jones, 24, in Tokyo.
The former couple have also feuded over their eldest daughter North’s use of social media platforms, specifically her presence on TikTok.
