KANYE West is unable to find a buyer for his $11 million Wyoming ranch eight months later – after abandoning plans to relocate his Yeezy fashion headquarters, The Sun exclusively reports.
In October 2021, the 44-year-old rapper and entrepreneur put the 3,888-acre property up for sale with broker JW Robinson of DBW Realty, having bought it two years earlier.
Robinson told Cody Enterprise at the time, “We showed the property three times a week and made about 50 calls or more a week.”
But two thirds of a year later, despite around 1,700 calls and 100 viewings, there is still no sign of a buyer for the “one of a kind property”.
The land includes two freshwater trophy lakes, tool sheds, horse facilities, a lodge and a go-kart track designed by Kanye.
Realtors listed it as “61 Nielsen Rd” and chose not to use the name Kanye gave it – West Lake Ranch – or its original nickname, Monster Lake Ranch.
According to TMZ, the country ranch has eight units and is known for fishing for “monster trout.”
The stalled sale isn’t the only problem Ye faces as he’s also looking to divest various assets he owns in the cowboy state after seemingly abandoning plans to bring his clothing brand Yeezy to the tiny rural town to relocate to Cody, which has a population of just 9,810.
Kanye has listed various commercial properties and vacant lots for sale across the city through his company Psalm Cody Commercial LLC, The Sun can confirm.
He sold a $1.3 million property in November that would become Yeezy’s regional headquarters, but it never materialized.
His team had erected a huge fabric tent on the property, which was to serve as temporary storage for the staging of “companies of the future”.
The Cody Planning and Zoning Board allowed him to keep the tent operational until the time of the sale, but this month the new owners were told to tear it down despite their offer to make aesthetic improvements to the 4,800-square-foot storage structure.
According to Cody Enterprise, acting CEO Scott Richard said, “It depends on the architecture, is it appropriate for the neighborhood?”
Kanye originally moved to the property after his 2020 meltdown and made it his base during his presidential campaign.
Prominent locals have since beaten him for leaving town and recklessly disregarding planning laws.
City Mayor Matt Hall told local newspaper Casper Star-Tribune: “West has promised to bring dozens of jobs to Cody and hire local workers. [but] no more than a handful of residents filled design commissions for him.”
ABANDONED HQ PLANS
The Sun has reached out to Kanye’s rep for comment.
Park County Commissioner Joe Tilden added that they tried to expedite his hastily assembled projects, but “it kind of all fizzled out and gave us a lot of anxiety.”
Forbes reported Kanye said in 2019, “Cody is a great place to stay if you want to work with a real, living, true, breathing founder who cares about humanity.”
Meanwhile, he has also failed to sell a two-acre commercial lot with a 6,900-square-foot building with five bedrooms downstairs and five other multipurpose rooms downstairs with laundry and a full kitchen, which is listed on DBW Realty’s website is for $739,000.
He was luckier getting rid of three vacant lots for $138,000 each, another for $200,000 and a fifth for $549,000, according to documents seen by The Sun.
A $108,000-a-year property he subleased for Yeezy Productions from pharmaceutical company Lannet is now for sale for $2.5 million.
One of Kanye’s fleet of luxury SUVs also failed to sell, despite being touted as “celebrity-owned Raptors.”
The eight vehicles were auctioned off by Musser Bros, with one – a 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor 4WD – receiving no bids.
The other vehicles, which were Ford Raptors, Ford F350s or Ford Expeditions, all sold for between $39,250 and $79,000, with most attracting over 100 bids.
Kanye has recorded albums at his ranch and has hosted a number of events at the property, including his Sunday service concerts.
His soon-to-be ex-wife Kim Kardashian and their four children – North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3 – have also been photographed at the location over the years.
They have enjoyed outdoor activities at the ranch, including horseback riding and playing on ATVs during trips away from their primary residence in Calabasas, Los Angeles, which Kim will retain through their divorce.
The SKIMS founder, 41, filed in February 2021 after six years of marriage and later moved on with SNL star Pete Davidson, 28, who met their children.
Ye attacked Pete and ex-Kim in a series of bitter Instagram posts as they struggled to raise their children together, but has since disappeared from the platform.
Kanye is still believed to be dating Instagram model Chaney Jones, who has been dubbed Kim’s twin by fans and has his name tattooed on her wrist.
